Description of Services
PROFESSINAL
CONSULTATION WITH ALCOHOL AND DRUG PROGRAMS: Karen Dennis has over twelve years of experience at an administrative level in alcohol and drug programs. She has helped local agencies with conducting needs assessments, screening and interviewing prospective employees, personnel issues, and the development of policy and procedure. We also provide independent chart audits.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM RESOURCE: KAREN Consultants offers consultation and liason services to those working under the Criminal Justice umbrella. These groups include police departments, attorneys, Juvenile, Criminal, Family, General Sessions, and Drug Courts, jails, prisons, probation and parole officers, and treatment centers that provide services to the offender population.
EMPLOYER RESOURCE: KAREN Consultants provides on-site consultation services which include education and skill building training of management and Human Resource personnel regarding addiction. Karen Dennis will soon be a Department of Transportation Substance Abuse Provider and will be able assist you in meeting your DOT needs. In addition, we can act as a liason between the employee and the employer, and smoothing the transition back to work for those who have completed addiction treatment.
SCHOOL RESOURCE: We provide consultation services regarding addiction issues to school systems. We can act as a liason between the adolescent and his treatment center when it would be in the best interest of the school or the student.
TEMPORARY STAFFING SERVICE: Karen Consultants can provide Tennessee Licensed Addiction Counselors for staff coverage when you have a staff shortage. In the future, we hope to provide trained monitors to assist you in providing supervision of clients.
ADDICTION EDUCATION: KAREN Consultants will bring customized training to your agency. We are an approved provider for the National Association of Addiction Professionals (NAADAC) and the National Associations of Forensic Counselors (NAFC). We have trainings that focus on educating other disciplines about addiction, to assist them in better serving their clients. These other disciplines include nurses, social workers, teachers, and those who work within the Criminal Justice System.

We have regularly scheduled trainings in the Twelve Core Funcations of Addiction Counselors and other basic trainings scheduled every year for those seeking licensure/certification in Addictions. We also have continuing education at the intermediate and advanced levels.
CLINICAL SUPERVISION: Karen Dennis is an Addictions Board Qualified Clinical Supervisor. She has been clinically supervising students, counselor trainees and counselors since 1987. We provide this service to agencies and individuals. If you are interested in supervision, please contact Karen Dennis.
TECHNICAL SUPPORT: Those who have completed their addiction education and supervised hours may consult Karen Dennis to provide technical support in the sometimes confusing process of certification/licensure. She has been providing this assistance to many clinicians over the years.
